Calcium lignosulfonate can serve as a technological binder in compatible pelleted-feed manufacturing. Its primary role is to support pellet formation and handling quality, not to act as a nutritional supplement or therapeutic ingredient. Use is subject to the ordered grade, animal species and destination-market requirements.
Pellet-Mill Functions
- Support ingredient cohesion during conditioning and pelleting
- Improve pellet durability where demonstrated by trials
- Reduce loose fines and handling losses in suitable formulations
- Assist consistency across mixing, transport and storage
Production Trial Measurements
| Process area | Recommended checks |
| Conditioning | Moisture, temperature, mixing and addition sequence |
| Pellet mill | Throughput, die behavior, energy consumption and temperature |
| Pellet quality | Durability, hardness, fines, bulk density and breakage |
| Aquatic feed where applicable | Water stability and nutrient loss |
| Storage | Moisture, caking, microbial controls and shelf stability |
Dosage and Compliance
For GAC-CaLS-FB Feed Binder Grade, the current TDS lists a recommended trial range of 1-5% of the total feed blend. The optimum level depends on species, feed composition, fines, conditioning and required pellet quality. Establish the minimum effective level through feed-mill trials and confirm nutritional formulation, contaminant controls and finished-feed performance. The manufacturer must verify current authorization, maximum use conditions, labeling and traceability for the applicable species and market.
Required Documents
Use a feed-suitable sales specification rather than a general industrial grade. Request the TDS, SDS, specification, COA and available regulatory documentation.
